What is Ear Wax Removal?
Ear wax plays an important role in protecting the ear canal, but excessive wax build-up can cause symptoms such as:
✔ Reduced hearing
✔ Blocked ears
✔ Ear discomfort
✔ Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
✔ Dizziness
✔ Difficulty using hearing aids
✔ Ear fullness or pressure
Using a technologically advanced system, we are able to perform microsuction ear wax removal safely and effectively. During your appointment, we will be able to assess your ears, and if wax is present, gently remove it with microsuction – the gold standard of wax removal. High definition images and videos can be captured and securely stored, making it easy to share with other healthcare professionals should onward specialist treatment be required.
What is a Hearing Check?
Hearing loss isn’t limited to older individuals….. people of any age can be affected.
It can result from various factors such as:-
Exposure to loud noises eg loud music, noisy workplaces, or certain hobbies.
Infections eg flu or Covid
Blockages eg wax
Neurological conditions or injuries eg stroke, multiple sclerosis, head trauma
Medications
Since there are many potential causes, a hearing examination can help to determine your currently level of hearing and guide appropriate action.
At Revive Renew, we offer a free, short hearing screener after wax removal if you feel your hearing is affected. We run a 4-frequency hearing check (500Hz to 4kHz), offering immediate, accurate insights into hearing health, all from a single device. If our hearing test highlights areas for further investigation, we can refer you to a local specialist for a more in depth, free hearing test.
This is ideal for early detection of hearing issues and provides a more holistic ear health check in one visit.
Please note that if you experience a sudden loss of hearing in one or both ears, it’s crucial to seek medical help immediately. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss can happen unexpectedly and may require urgent treatment within 48 to 72 hours to maximize the chances of recovery.
